Mill Creek, in Tehama County, is located northeast of Red Bluff in the Plumas National Forest. Mono Lake is located on Highway 395, 13 miles east of Yosemite National Park, near the town of Lee Vining, California in Mono County. An immense inland sea, the lake fills a natural basin, 695 square miles in size. The lake itself, which is twice as salty as sea water, covers about 70 square miles.
