Velma Lakes are located in the 64,000-acre Desolation Wilderness. This wilderness area is just west of Lake Tahoe. A hike on the Eagle Falls Trail, which begins on the west shore of Lake Tahoe near Emerald Bay, will lead you to the three Velma Lakes.
