Mike Tollefson

Mike Tollefson
Superintendent, Yosemite National Park

Mike Tollefson has been the superintendent (head ranger) of Yosemite National Park since December 2002.  Tollefson's long career with the National Park Service includes the superintendency of Glacier Bay National Park in Alaska and Great Smoky Mountains National Park in North Carolina and Tennessee.  He served as a ranger in Katmai, Denali and Lake Clark National Parks and Preserves in Alaska, and Virgin Islands (VI) and North Cascades (WA) National Parks. He also has been in policy leadership positions in the NPS regional office in the Pacific Northwest. In 1995, he moved to Sequoia National Park where he focused on implementing the Giant Forest project.
